How can I install Light Fixture?
Have you recently bought a light fixture,
or are you trying to change one of them in your house? Now you shouldn’t go
calling a handyperson for a chore as little as that. Even without any prior
experience at all, you should be able to perform a simple everyday task by just
following a few simple steps. It’s essential to make a great first impression
with gorgeous lighting in our entryway, and that’s not easy to keep up when you
have the filaments of these lights that keep breaking. Lighting can subtly make
a significant impact to compliment our décor.
The easy part about
changing light fixtures is that it’s a fairly universal process. The light
sockets in our ceiling are mostly the same size and always have the same three
wires the live, the neutral and the ground wire. All you have to do
is make sure your fixture fits in the space for it, and the bulb matches its
socket. After that, follow these quick steps to bring light into your homes.

Gather all the
materials
Once you have
distinguished the kind of power outlet you have, you can go ahead and purchase
the perfect light fixture, whether LED or a wall lamp, that fits perfectly into
that outlet. Now we come to what kinds of gear we require, and there are five
critical tools that you need to gather in order to execute the job: a
Screwdriver, pliers, an electrical marrette, a circuit tester and a wire
stripper. In addition to these things, you’d want to keep your lamp or any
other fixture that you’ve bought in handy with this tool as well. This way, you
won’t fumble and look around for the tools simultaneously working on the
project.
Ensure your safety
There is no point
emphasising on why we need to be safe while working with live current as all
rational people, by at least one misfortunate incident have found that out
first-hand, and if you are lucky enough that you haven’t then follow our
instructions carefully and maybe you will never have to, at least not while
installing a light fixture. So, before you commence, most certainly make sure
to turn off the power supply from the main panel), that has switches
controlling the power supply to our entire home. Make sure to mark and
switch off the electricity to the area that you’ll be working on. Little
advise, keep a note pasted to the panel to ensure that no one turns it back on
by accident; use a circuit tester to confirm the power is off.
Actually, install it
Now your fixture and
your socket should include one ‘hot/live’ black coloured wire, one ‘neutral’
white coloured wire and one ‘ground’ copper wire. Circulating your fixture is
as elementary as connecting black to black, white to white and copper to copper
wires. The wires in your fixture would usually have some of the insulating
coating already removed from the metal; you’re ready to move forward with at
least half an inch of exposed wire and make your connection. If that’s not the
case, use your wire stripper to strip away about a half-inch of insulation PVC
to expose the metal wire. Once you have enough wire to work with, connect your
two black wires first, rotate the metal wires together and secure them with
electrical marrette. Connect the two white or neutral wires next. Secure the fixture
in its electrical box, and finally, turn it on.
We recommend you to
use licence electrician to install the light fixture to avoid any electrical
shock, power shortage, damage the fixture and safe time and energy.
